Broadway: The Lion King , Wicked and Hamilton are all up and running again for the first time in 18 months. Fans must have proof of vaccination in order to attend and masks must be worn at all times. 

 

Met Gala: Many of the stars and celebrities that seem to run the media all got together at the annual Met Gala, a charity event for New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Plenty of people showed off their outfits as it seems to be the number one feature of the event every year. People attending included athletes, musicians, political figures, internet phenoms, and many more.

 

New Phone: Apple is set to launch the IPhone 13 and IPhone 13+ later this month, as fans are excited to see the new back of the phone featuring four cameras.

 

George Floyd Case: Four officers charged with misdemeanors and violation of George Floyd’s civil rights have pleaded not guilty to the federal charges placed against them. 

 

Sports: Week 1 of the NFL has completed, with big wins coming from the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Buffalo Bills, the New Orleans Saints over the Green Bay Packers and the Oakland Raiders over the Baltimore Raiders.

 

Meanwhile in the MLB, the San Francisco Giants have officially clinched a playoff spot, while the Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to hit the magic number within days.

 

RMHS: In high school sports, the RMHS Varsity Football team gets a big win over Deerfield with a score of 17-14. A kick by Senior Lucas Greazel with two seconds left in the game pushed the Mustangs over the Warriors. 

 

The boys soccer team continues to impress, winning the Hampshire tournament this past weekend. They improved to 8-0 with a few tough, crucial matches ahead. Players such as Luke Bieda, Gage Lockley, and Wilson Espino have led the way while Senior Ramon Orozco has been huge in the goalkeeper position.
