RMHS Theatre Presents “Our Town”

Our Town is this year’s fall play, along with A Christmas Carol, Comedy Sports, and The Addams Family as the other productions the school is putting on this year. You can see Our Town October 15th, 16th, and 17th. From what I have seen from peeking in on practices, I can tell this show is going to be amazing and heart touching. I got the opportunity to ask the cast a few questions and loved the responses. 

In this show we follow the life of a girl named Emily Webb. She has quite the interesting life, and the end comes with a gut wrenching twist. She is a character you are sure to love. The crew manages to make you feel close to Emily like you are an actual friend. Our Townhas so many great scenes that one will guarantee to touch your heart. 

 “It’s really cathartic,” said senior Maggie Snell, “you become so attached to the characters throughout the story. It’s a really touching story that everyone can relate to in some capacity or another.” 

From watching the rehearsals I’ve gotten to see how they all get along. Most of the time they act like a family. They mess around, but also help each other to ease stress.  I honestly think that the key to a high quality show is the chemistry behind the scenes.

 “A few days ago we were rehearsing, but we were only saying our lines, not moving around or acting much. Everyone was joking around the whole time, doing different voices and trying hard to remember lines. It was pretty funny and felt like a good bonding experience as a whole cast,” said sophomore Amanda Maxwell 

I can’t wait to see this show in full this weekend with my friends. I know it’s going to be wonderful. Everyone should come out and see this show at least once, the crew is going to be so excited to see everyone out in the audience. Tickets are on sale during all lunches and at the door before the show begins.
