From Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, RMHS will be having their annual Homecoming celebration. There will be multiple competitions, prizes, dress up days, and fun events.
Monday will consist of everyone’s favorite dress up day: pajama day. It will also contain Mexican and Italian food truck options during all lunches. The evening wraps up in the stadium on the turf for a fun viewing of a movie with popcorn.
Tuesday is Twin day and Togas for seniors. There will be American/Greek and sweet treat food trucks during all lunches, and the night comes to a close with a soccer tournament for students. Students will have to have 5-10 members per team. It will be hosted as a bracket style, running clock competition.
Wednesday will be “Wild Wednesday” where students are told to wear any “wild” clothing: Non matching, flannel, animal print, or camouflage are encouraged. This day will bring with it a coronation assembly to crown RMHS Homecoming Royalty as well as a karaoke competition in the cafeteria during all lunches. Students are also encouraged to stay after school in the main foyer to decorate. Pizza will be provided.
Friday is known as “Fairytale Day” and the dress up will consist of each class wearing different colors. Freshmen will wear green, sophomores purple, juniors gold, while seniors wear their senior shirts. Lunches will hold $1 carnation sales, and during 8th block, there will be a pep assembly with performances. There will be a powder toss before the football game and a fireworks celebration after.
This year’s theme is definitely something special: Enchanted Meadow. At the Homecoming dance on Saturday, Oct 4, there will be a number of fun games, photo booths, and a DJ that students can dance along to with their friends. There will also be concessions there if students are feeling hungry.
Students of all ages are excited for the upcoming fun. “I am so excited for this homecoming and the many events leading up to the dance,” said sophomore Asher Beverung.
The vibes of this year are definitely good, and the student body can tell. “This homecoming just feels like it’s gonna be a good onem,” said junior Nico Zimmerman.
Tickets go on sale Monday during all lunches. They will be sold throughout the week, but no tickets will be sold at the door. The students are pumped for a week full of fun and excitement at RMHS.
