With a record of 10-8, the RMHS flag football team has proven their determination on the field. But beyond the wins and losses lies a deeper story — one of camaraderie, growth, and an unbreakable family culture.
From the moment they step onto the field, these players are more than just teammates; they are a close-knit family. “We got close super quickly and I feel very comfortable and connected with everyone,” said Caylee Del Boccio. They love to support one another, constantly cheering each other on through every play.
This unwavering encouragement creates a positive hype environment where every player feels comfortable and connected. Adaptability is key in flag football, and this team excels by working together to adjust to new positions and challenges.
“Having to switch players around due to injuries is really challenging to adapt to, but I think we adjust well and try our best,” said junior Taya Rozanski. Whether it’s learning a new role or mastering a new strategy, the players lean on each other, fostering collaboration and trust.
Leadership plays a pivotal role in shaping the team’s culture. Seniors and captains serve as role models, guiding younger teammates with experience and motivation. Their influence helps maintain the family atmosphere that defines this team.
What truly sets this team apart is their commitment to lifting each other up. They push one another to improve, celebrate each other’s successes, and offer support during setbacks. This mutual respect and encouragement create a bond that goes beyond the game.
“For me, with the girls in the grade above me- they have really helped me get through some of the tough parts of this year,” said sophomore Meghan Riggi.
In the end, this flag football team isn’t just about the scoreboard — it’s about building lasting friendships, growing as individuals, and creating a family culture that empowers everyone to bring their best to the field.
