Head Coach:

Team Leaders:

What coach has to say:

Rivals and Recaps:

“We have a large freshman team who are making immediate impacts!” Coach Chiappetta brought up a specific freshman in the girls swim and dive, Vera Conic. In her first HS meet, she broke three records.! The 200 IM from 1986, 100 Free from 2018, and 100 back from 1988. “She is absolutely amazing and an incredible teammate! It’ll be so great to see all she can do this season!” They also have a large senior team, consisting of varsity divers Caitlin Widawski and Brooklyn Hextall, and swimmers Cassidy Pardini, Audrey Parker, Angela Tisbert, Rachel Malik, Mocka Hara, Michelle Baghdad, Vivian Weber, and Victoria Wiltse. Due to the girls having many friends on ProspectPropsect and Hersey’s teams, they don’t necessarily have rivals, and actually look forward to seeing and competing against them.

To add on to all of this, I was able to ask senior Audrey Parker some questions regarding the team, and here’s what I got. “This year’s team has such a great balance of camaraderie, friendship, determination, sportsmanship and teamwork. Everyone’s willing to help each other out and do the best that they can at practice, whether that be giving each other rides, hyping each other up before meets, cheering each other on at meets, and making sure everyone is on the same page schedule and workout wise.” She is most looking forward to building better bonds with the Varsity girls, and being able to pass down and share their new trade withtrade on with the underclassmen. Audrey has been swimming competitively ever since she was 9 years old. She started out on a park district team, and fell in love with it. “By practicing with girls above my skill level and having a coach that really break down technique for me on a whole new dimension, it’s a decision I’ll never regret making.”

Boys Soccer

Head Coach: Brett Olson

Team Leaders: This year Oscar Chlopek and Francisco (Paco) Ramirez are both the teams “star players” and coach Brett Olson can’t wait to see them improve over the season.

What Coach Has to Say: Olson says “we have a young and inexperienced team this year. But they have come together quickly.” Coach Olson also says that this year’s team is “very technical and quick” and believes that they should be able to control the middle of the field with the talent the boys carry.

Rivals and Recaps: Prospect and Hersey are the biggest rivals this season. The next couple of weeks include a series of great challenges and matches. Wish them luck!
